Drawing of one of Louis Sussmann-Hellborn's Sculptures. I was originally inspired by the sculpture from how peaceful it looked and the contrast from dark to light. One thing I learnt from this piece is perspective in the face. The perspective lines from the chin, mouth, nose, eyes and forehead lead to a point roughly top left of the page. Capturing this was key in creating the depth in this piece. I used a range of pencils such as 6B, 4B, HB and 4H for the lighter areas. It took me about an hour to do.

That is absolutely amazing drawing Ian, it feels like the person is just resting his head and will wake up any moment. Like the way you did lips, that is the part where I most struggle. Thank you for sharing your learning point from the drawing you are right only after you pointed I also noticed that. You are amazing!

Thanks Stef! Yeah the lips can be very challenging to draw!
