Been working on a theme of several paintings over the course of February! I’m not usually one to use many blues or purples or a cool green palette, so this has been an exercise in color use for me. It is part of a challenge by “MyArtsyBujo” on Instagram called “Seas the Day.”
I need to play a bit of catch up on the themes to finish them all and create a full series. I’m learning a lot about how to apply these cool colours effectively. I mostly work in rainbow or earth tones (warm greens, orange, yellow, brown/tan, copper, deep green, etc etc etc) or warm colors. It’s really improving my ability to see things differently.
What do you guys think about all this blue? Is there a color you frequently choose aesthetically or create with often? What would be a new color you think would expand your skills as an artist and be an experiment or challenge to your visual creativity?
