Sigh of relief (original sketchbook drawing)steemCreated with Sketch.

in art •  7 years ago

I finished this new sketch today, and it was such a sigh of relief feeling as soon as I put the pencil down. I've been writing so much for Steemit lately that my sketching and illustrations have taken quite the backseat. And now I have some inspiration for them, so here comes one of many.

I unfortunately didn't capture photos of as much of the process as I planned and wanted to, but here are a few from today, including one showing the process and some showing the final product. The final drawing is a combination of large shading pencil, a finer hard pencil linework, smudged with eraser to soften and create a blur effect, as well as create layers by lightening the shaded area after the fact.
