"Mindful Recognition"

Buddhaprint.jpg

I painted this picture to represent, to me, the alien-ness of the Buddha.
Blue was chosen for the skin color to ultimately represent the Hindu God, Shiva.

Enlightenment has always been kind of a bad word to me, and i wanted to embolden that thought, and encase it in a canvas. No matter how hard i've striven to reach Nirvana, i fail, though i constantly, to this day, attempt to accomplish it.

The flower of life is meant to represent perfection, and how perfection can be thought of out side of us, and, simultaneously all encompassing.

The rainbow golden spiral in the background represents the spectrum of human existence, in this perfectly imperfect juxtaposition, and that even though the pursuit of perfection may be futile, doesn't mean that the endeavor will not be rewarding.

Thanks for viewing, and let me know what y'all think
