Intro to Czechoslovakian Art Glass

howdy folks and greetings from the Great Plains of North Texas!

Today I wanted to take detour from my usual discussion paths and
talk about art glass. Czecholslovakian art glass to be precise. I'm an
avid collector so I thought I would share some photos with ya'll
because I know how good of taste you have! lol.

I became fascinated by the skill and artistry of the Czech glass artists
and their pieces from the 1920's of Art Deco style really appealed to
me so I started searching and collecting.

There are many fakes and knock offs of their work but they marked
their glass with an acid etching on the bottom or side that looked like
this:

and that tells you that you got the real thing, no one has imitated that
mark yet. The glass factories were turning out millions of pieces each
year until the German Army invaded and smashed the factories to
bits in 1939 and no one has been able to match their quality and
variety since.

So here's some pieces to show you what to look for the next time
you're in the mood to buy me something! lol. The can be found
online, at antique shops and malls, flea markets, etc. The artists
were prolific and produced stunning glass and pottery works of art.

They did alot of pieces with applied handles which are very desirable
because of course over the years the handles break so the pieces with
intact handles are worth quite a bit. Here's an example and it's a nice
one because it has a clear glass overlay over the colored glass vase:

Perfume bottles are the most expensive and rare, most of the great
ones are in museums or private collections. Here's a nice one:
