Life on the Edge - mixed media artwork

I'd like to share one of my favourite mixed media artworks with you - 'Life on the Edge', created using acrylic paints, graphic pens, handmade collaged materials and Caran D’Ache water-soluble crayons on 16″ × 20″ boxed canvas

This artwork is full of all kinds of spontaneously manifested characters, elements, and stories. The words that came to me when its title came through say a little bit about the things I see and the resonance it has for me, but I'm always extremely fascinated to hear about what other people see in my work, so feel free to leave me a comment telling me what this painting says to you... Do you see a story, a narrative here? Do you see figures, events, meaning in its intuitively painted abstract form?

Dynamic, fluid, vital, ever-changing – real life is always lived ‘on the edge’. To become static, set in one’s ways, immoveable, is to become that much less alive: and flesh, unlike stone, was never intended to be thus…
