Full disclosure, I don't know how to #art. But I'm learning (for those of you who also struggle with drawing, I can't recommend Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain enough)
This drawing represents about 3 months of progress (and only a lifetime of progress left to go...).
For any artists out there, why does it seem to be easier to draw faces than inanimate objects? Shouldn't the complexities of a face be more difficult to replicate? Honestly, I can't even draw a fork.
More practice I guess.
Thanks for looking at my picture.
You find faces easier to draw because you have an affinity for people. Anything you do will come easier because you want to record what you see. If your forks look like shit, it's because frankly, you don't give a shit about forks. Draw what is attractive to you.
Also, I heard an artist on youtube reflecting about when she first started out. She would make videos and say things like, "I don't know how to draw, sorry guys this looks so bad~~" and her viewers would comment to her and say, "wow, you make me feel like shit because my drawings are so much worse than yours but you say yours are bad."
No need to disrespect talent by saying you don't know how or why your art looks the way it does. Accept where you are in your progress.

Thanks friend!
You're right. I honestly don't give a shit about forks (sporks, on the other hand...). And drawing interesting faces with lots of wrinkles and blemishes totally gets me excited.

For what it's worth -- you did a pretty good job in capturing his likeness. The 'poutyness' of his mouth is on-point. However, he looks far too young.
