This was a challenge for me since I have just begun working with oil in the past 4 months. I began by blocking out basic forms with a burnt sienna color and dropping greys in where the shaddows are. The background was a vined wall so I did it in a little more of fuzzy way than real life. My face was extremely difficult and i used 700 different shades of tan and peach, but i'm decently happy with the end result. I know I could capture more detail, as I do with drawing and I look foward to achieving that in the future.

Committed. And brilliant. You lost me at 700 shades of tan. I throw a blob and I am happy..
Your self-portrait is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
