I have been working on this oil painting on and off for over a year now. "Never finished, only abandoned" as the saying goes. I have even shown it twice, at various stages. I guess that might not be the strangest thing. There are artists, like Glenn Brown, who will show a piece, then rework and add to the same piece to show again. I fear I am a victim to such addiction.
I guess it can be hard to tell if you are really finished if you don't know what you're painting. That might not be the best way to describe it though. I would say my affliction is an attempt to crystallize an ever flowing stream of shifting thoughts. Sometimes I feel like I'm just conducting a million painting experiments. I guess I just want to try end up with a painting that shows off the experiments that worked out and look appealing.
So heres "Non-Material" girl. An organized mix of various minerals suspended in linseed oil, reflecting and refracting light beams. Is it a wave? Is it a particle? Is it finished? "NonMaterial Girl"
Oil on Panel
48"x36"
I have no words to describe how cool this painting is. Great work
