Woman Portrait (A Step-by-step Drawing)

This is the final product of my drawing of a portait of a woman and I will be showing you how I did it with just a few materials.

Being an artist that is not really professional in this field I do not know how to name the materials, but these are all pencils (haha!) so I will just be showing a picture of the "pencils" I used. But hey I am pretty much sure the one placed on top is a mechanical pencil.

So okay Step 1 is just a rough sketch of how I want the woman to pose or the stage where I can say "I can really push through this drawing". I used the middle pencil shown in the previous image.

Step 2 is detailing and making smart guesses on the shadow areas. Still using the same pencil.

Step 3 is where I started using the mechanical pencil to blacken areas that are supposedly darker than the others.

Step 4 is further darkening the areas to highlight her hair and her turtle neck shirt. Still using the mechanical pencil because it is pretty much efficient in darkening while the bottom pencil I used for some shadowing.

Lastly, Step 5 is just creating a touch of abstract in her hair to get a feeling of her hair flowing radiantly.
