Sketch Book Throwback - Ideas into Comics

in art •  7 years ago  (edited)

Here we are again, diving deeper into this mind of mine. I'll be comparing old sketches with the on-going comic I draw.

Let's kick this off with our "hero", the gritty Lev. The question seemed to be "How dark can he be?"

The transformation ended up being pretty gradual and he doesn't seem as violent as the original sketch suggested. At least there is a reason behind each behavior.

The barbecue scene, early in the story, is one I had in mind for a while! As you can see below, I haven't changed it much in the final version.

From the start, I wanted to include a public cleaning team but I didn't know how to include it. In my first iteration, our main trio was trying out various job without success and this was one of them...

Hopefully the character of Big Jo introduces it into the plot in a subtle way. The garbage truck even plays out a huge role at some point in the story...

Hope these few sketches gave you an insight on my train of thoughts. I'd be thrilled to get your feedback on Shades Of Men. ;-)

Hopefully I sparked your interest in some way...

More content coming your way soon.
See you on the other side,

Jrej

I never found Lev too dark. I always thought there's a reason behind his behavior. Right or wrong, we'll find out soon, I hope :) Resteeming, of course!

Good work
