Creative Inspiration: My Dad's Stained Glass WindowssteemCreated with Sketch.

Hey community! Today I wanted to share some of my biggest creative inspiration—my father Stephen's lifelong passion of making stained glass art. I have been blessed to learn from him a bit about his craft, and hope to continue studying and co-creating in future. It's my dream to incorporate stained glass art into my future cob house home. When I get to that point, I'll be sure to share more photos! For now, here are some pictures of his gorgeous work.

The moon face here is probably my favorite of his works—I currently have one he made me hanging in my room!

This piece inspired me with the idea of making a much larger window of three birds—the quetzal, condor, and eagle—based on the ancient Indigenous prophecy of the spiritual unification of the Americas:

I helped him make these mountain pieces many years ago:

This window, also including the moon face, was built into the Adams House at Harvard, where my dad and I both went to college. It was neat to see anytime I'd happen to visit Adams while studying there. I love that the infinity snake is eating its tail—the ouroboros, a symbol originating in ancient Egypt and later adopted by the Greeks, signifying introspection, cyclicality, and alchemy.

This tree window inspired me to make a series of four trees at each season and hang them in a circular room in each of the four directions:

These inspired me to build a circular temple (some day!) using natural building techniques and create stained glass windows honoring many different spiritual and religious traditions and sacred symbols:

And this was my dad's first ever window, which he made while living in San Francisco at the age of 16!

Thanks for stopping by! Would love to hear about what's inspired you all creatively as well. Peace!
