Abstract Art Friday / Week 2 / I made a video of my process to share with you :)

Every Friday (time permitting of course) I plan on posting some abstract freeform art. It's just me playing around, nothing too structured to help me decompress at the end of the week. This week I decided to do a screen capture because on some previous posts people mentioned that they enjoyed seeing the process and would like to see more in the digital art realm. Here's the final result:

Abstract10-01.jpeg

While I was painting/drawing this there was a thunderstorm brewing outside so I added some rain and thunder as an accompaniment. You can mute that part if you're not interested.

This took me a total of about 45 minutes to complete and I have compressed it down to five minutes. You can change the speed on youtube to 25% up to 2X so if you want to watch it faster or slower you can do so. I hope more people do posts like these so I can see their process as well. It's quite revealing because you can see where I added elements I did not like and how I morphed things and all the fun little imperfections that come with making art. If you want to get in on this I will be adding the tags abstractartfriday and also artprocess. Use either one that is applicable for you (e.g. if it's not abstract or friday).

I hope you enjoy and if you have any questions about digital painting or just want to chat leave some comments! Have a nice weekend <3

Thank you for the Great creative process video @juliakponsford ! Your inspirations are captivating. The thunderstorm track went well with the video. Splendid outcome :)

Thanks it was a real pain to figure out how to screen capture for more than a few minutes on my tablet holy moly, glad I got it figured out though! I really enjoy seeing other people's process I hope more people will do them :) I should do a tutorial on the screencast I could save people a few hours, lol. How are you doing? Working on any projects?

I'm almost done with a new sound-poem. They can take awhile when I start from scratch. I'm mostly using computer voices so that gets a bit tedious to get them sounding believable. I love doing them though. I'm gonna take your advice and do a sound-poem process blog one of these days. I'd love a screencast tutorial. Also, what paint program do you use?

Nice I'd love to see that, I've never worked with those voices before. That would be interesting!

For the screencast I'm using airdroid, the painting app is
Infinite painter. It's about 10$ on the play store and has entertained me for hundreds of hours so far. Well worth the money. I believe they have a desktop application but you would need a Wacom tablet and I think it's more expensive.

Nice! Loved watching how this developed. I'm excited to see how you progress from doing this more regularly.

Thanks fungus monk!:)
