I have been slow and encumbered, and getting back to drawing and making comics since the summer holiday have happened at snail pace - all kinds of reasons.
In the meantime I have indulged in the new state of things here, all that wonderful Steem drama. I have witnessed Steem drop in monetary value and rise in social value. I do my daily downvotes - mostly just 2,5 100% downvotes and some reporting to @steemflagrewards. I have been hit back with revenge votes. I have also been upvoted with bought bidbot-votes (and that even on a post that was satirically turned against the bidbots (See here). Who would have thought that I would get a Booster upvote after I was hit pretty hard by Booster some weeks ago. (I was pretty puzzled until I realised it had been paid for by another).
But no matter what, I haven't changed my mind. We need to stop using bidbots and the vote-sellers will have to change their business plan doing something else with their stack. Smartsteem and OCDB already decided to go for manual curation. Cheers for those guys! Blacklists and Whitelists does not change the fact that any kind of vote-selling disrupts the simple principles steem is founded on: rewards for content based on the quality as judged by the community. You shouldn't be able to buy that rewards - it is illogical.
If you are in doubt whether to, or who to downvote go to the discord channel of steemflagrewards: https://discord.gg/5GAW4B and ask where to find the lists of people acting in all kinds of anti social ways. I am sure you can find someone who deserved a downvote. Steemit is filled to the brink with such users.

Absolutely agree with what you're saying here m8 🙂 it's a brave New world... but honestly what steem needs. Even those who ran the 'vote buying services' are now I think realising that if honest curation returns to steem before the next bull run, the influx of new users are going to boost steem back up in price. The truth is that we all (and I mean steemians big, medium and small) should be attempting to make this place work 'proof of brain' rather than 'proof of game'.
Facebook made a billion dollar valuation because of the value of such a massive network. If steem starts to look like it was envisioned as being in the Whitepaper, then we can attract that level of network... I truly believe that. Long ways away, but still a possibility. The only quandary, in that universe ad space on early adopters blogs would be worth a bomb because of eyes on. I'm not sure I could do it. I've always hated adverts. But then again I hate being poor as well 😂

I somehow feel that I need to communicate this in each and every post (even though I haven't :) That the system is working and has three years of experience doing what it does makes it stupid to throw in the trashcan just because there's some that think of the place as free gift shop. We need to get our noses back in the track, and then yes, it just might be a place people can use instead of Facebook.

Before I say anything about that out of this world drawing... Let's first agree on lesser use of bidbots in a way to show them out. Imagine giants like Ocdb and Smartsteem dropping them and going manual. It's huge. Huge I tell you.
I feel like we need to revisit what community is before we forge ahead. Like we need this manual curation more than anything regardless of Steem's monetarily value right now. I believe this was we can save ourselves and actually work towards building a whole #newsteem but only if we drop the drama. Sigh.
About the drawing... I think your work like @steemitadventure's is a good place to source for inspiration to write the most creative fictional stories 💕

We have a lot of freedom here and people will exploit that for profit. It is a case of what the greater community will tolerate. For now that seems to be moving in a better direction, but we do not want to put off new users. If they get on the wrong track we have to guide them a little. We will get there...

As always technology is just a thin glaze atop of human nature. As always it takes a social effort to make things right, and they will never be completely right, just good enough. The community minded people have not been able to do anything under the former rules, and now we have to mop up so much corruption that it almost takes my breath away, but at least now something is done. I think we will get there too...
