I suppose it could also be a romantic novel cover, or soft erotica, or a spy novel. The house might not be haunted, but the head quarter of an eccentric hippie millionaire who has dealings with the Soviet Union and only a female CIA agent can infiltrate his depraved harem of drug-addicted beauties from all over the world.
Or all of them at once... and haunted on top of it?

Amazing painting, btw! The angle the house and the way the woman stares are excellent and exciting.
This house below is a few minutes walk from my home, has a reputation of being haunted, and was widely used in relation to American Horror Story as a fan poster. Interestingly enough, it belonged to a family named Salem (more info here - has English translation after the part in Greek)
