It is never meant to be done

Thats the excuse I always make when I don't feel right about the artwork i started doing. It doesn't simply make me happy anymore no matter how realistic or wonderful it is, if it doesnt make any sense at all I tend to stray away from it.

Heres a blank canvas, a typical artist is afraid of it like what exactly I am. I'm afraid of running out of content or concept. Always in search for a one of a kind masterpiece. Always want to be witty about every single piece I make. This blank canvas could drain every good thing out of me. Theres this foreign artist that changed my perspective towards art making. he said:

Draw the ugliest drawing everyday and once they're all out in the future then you'll be making the best ones.

Heres a photo of an unfinished painting. It should depict 8 running horses for feng shui purposes. However, new concepts came to my mind and made me work to ankther piece and forced me to stop working on the horses.

This portrait of Athena was made for a contest. But then again my attention is shifted to things that I find something more relevant than doing the drawing. Actually there are lots of factors as to why my attention is shifted from one thing to another and it is the lack of dedication.

No matter how wonderful you visualize the output of your work you will never know when procrastination attacks. Yes, PROCRASTINATION, thats what most artists have in common. I never though I could never finish this painting. Could've been one of my best works.

Actually there are limitless reason as to why we abandon our works. May it be subjective or genral. There are so much mors to show but I guess I'd be happy to read it from you guys. Please do comment your problems when it comes to making an artwork and we'll try to solve it together 😊

Being an artist is never easy. Too much dos and don'ts. Criticism here and there. And sleepless nights as well. I tried shifting my perspective in art making and it worked out fine. I take thing in a positive way where I look at criticism as a foundation for understanding things. Criticism fuels my desire to learn more.

Thats if for today 😊
