Watercolour on A4
Burnt umber, raw sienna, black watercolour and white wax is all you need to create bushveld scenes .I draw a preliminary sketch, then I rub the wax to resist the water, which is the next step. Starting with a lot of water and minimal pigment, I apply the first washes. I do these quite rapidly but with intent. As the water starts drying on the paper, I start adding more pigment to a loaded brush. I paint the last layers with a even dryer brush to obtain more texture and detail.
