Experimenting and trying out new things today...

It's the first time I'm using casein paint, after watching so many videos from James Gurney painting with it.

It feels like a mix between watercolor, gouache and oil. I like it.

The plus side, it's water soluble. So you can do transparent washes and use it like watercolors. But when it dries, it becomes waterproof. Which means, you can also use it as an under-paint for gouache.

The model is my friend's puppy Peter Bruce :)

Surface: Fabriano watercolor sketchbook
Colors used: Titanium White, Ivory Black, Venetian Red, Cobalt Blue, Yellow Ochre, Raw Umber
Brand: Richeson Casein
Brush: DaVinci Junior Synthetic no.10

It's a nice painting of a friendly doggo :) It looks like it took you quite a while to create and it would be nice if you would share some progress photos going forward. It is just a suggestion but I believe that it would attract more Steemians coming over to your account and checking it out :) But it's up to you..

Thank you for sharing and have a good weekend!

Thank you! I appreciate your suggestion and I'll try to record my progress in the future :)
