Oil painting and work process

Strange bug - flower, oil on paper, 20 x 14 cm.
I don't know if this is a beetle or a flower. I think a bug pretending to be a flower. :)

Progress - after i have a draft and oil paint is dry i work out everything. Starting with the leaves (here darker green):

Light green:

Shadow to wings - left side finish:

Make hairs:

soften overflows:

Working out again, put some lights:

More light and shadow - finnish.

aaaaaaaaah so... so cute? XD kinda just want to hug this bug trying to pretend to be a flower with it being upside down and all that XD i love the detailing, vesna <3 the wings are gorgeous and love that detailed shots of you making the hair/fur on the body <3 <3

I live the stripey colouring. And it does appear to be a bun imitating a flower, as happens quite often in 'real' nature. Lovely as usual.
