This Wind-Powered Mining Rig Funds Climate Change Research Using ZCash (ZEC)

I like to report cool ways cryptocurrency is slowly being used in nearly everything we do.

Artist/Engineer Julian Oliver built a wind-powered rig that mines ZCash (ZEC) to increase climate change awareness and help fund climate change research.

At this scale the rig still needs the assistance of mining pools but I don't think that is the entire point here. Neither is profit (I'll save you the time to comment on it!).

Still, at the very least, this is more proof that cryptocurrency is gaining acceptance into mainstream culture/life/business everyday.

That's why I love to read articles like this. We are at the beginning of a technology that will eventually disrupt nearly everything we have are accustomed to. The more people and governments are scared the more I know this is true.

I'm happy that you and I are enjoying the journey, wherever it may take us.
