Mabuhay!!!
Today, I'm gonna share to you one of my recent adventures which happened last March 2018. I got some time away from school works, so I decided to go visit the National Museum of the Philippines, which is located at Ermita, Manila (in case you want to visit too 😉).
(The weather was gloomy on that day.)
Philippines is known for its great artists, now and then. The national museum is a home for the prestigious artworks of Filipinos, which can show us stories about our society for the past few decades. As Filipinos, we value our culture and history, and preserving our treasures in art is one of our ways.
As I enter the museum, I was mesmerized by the sparkling chandeliers hanging by the high ceiling, themed with columns and wood floorings which are cleanly polished.
Entering one of the doors led me to this finely sculptured image of an angel, made by the great Guillermo Tolentino.
And of course, our national hero, our Dr. Jose P. Rizal. Who could have forget his love for his fellowmen and his country?
Next, is something I'm very shook and sad about. The photo I took shows the unfinished artwork and the exact setting of Fernando Amorsolo's working site when he died. (Seeing this again makes me sad again. 💔)
So here are other sculptures and paintings made by our Filipino artists.
A shot of the interior of the National Museum of the Philippines.
Of course, a photo of me taken by @collenedesilva. 😊
Aaah, so much Filipino talent to be proud of. ❤
So... That was only some of the works inside our national museum. There were so much more, and I hope this blog made you want to visit it personally. 😊
Thank you for reading!
