I made this piece a few years back and put it off to the side knowing I needed to add something. I changed up the background recently and added some different colors and a white outline. It's on a piece of wood panel and getting ready to be hung in a restaurant.
I started the idea in my sketchbook as shown here.
I then spray painted a background using some greens and yellows, then sketched it out with a black sharpie. I then painted a thin layer of white and filled it in with colors. I started doing this at a one day music festival in Miami.
I added more details with bushes as well as some paint markers. I feel like the finished background contrasts much better than this one..just took me awhile to get around to changing it up.
