Tried N Tested: Mini Grinder and Drill - does it work? steemCreated with Sketch.

Recently if you have noticed my old account @craftsofluv you have realised that it has gone active again, after able to link it from Instagram to Steemit.

But because that's for commerce I have decided to write a quick review on this "mini" drill + grinder that I have acquired in hope to speed up my sanding work for my #onelessjunkonearth upcycling project that I have taken upon by not letting these useful metal containers go to waste.

So does it work?

To be honest when it first came I was pretty stoked with its arrival as I have spent extra for an extension drilling / grinding cord in order for me to easily hold it.

Unfortunately I didn't realise that though it is small and handheld, it is still very powerful and the entire extension cord was shaking like mad. I ended up feeling my hand became numb after trying to make it hold still.

Sence I have decided to use hold on its body and learn to balance it instead.

Needless to say that it requires plenty of effort to get the hang of it, furthermore the high pitch sound can be irritating if you do not have protected headset or even a simple ear phones to help drown the sound.

I was so worried that the high pitch will irritate neighbours as I am doing this work in a high-rise, thankfully my apartment's wall works pretty good I shielding too much sound sipping out.

But I did promise my neighbours I will not do it at night, and will only do it on Tuesdays when I have no job to do.

Overall verdict it did help lessen my time a lot with the side sanding / grinding process; but because I am not used to the other heads I still have a hard time sanding wide flat surface without sparks and which is quite dangerous.

But I know I'll get better eventually.

The rough sand heads are actually quite loose so if you are not careful it will fly out of the high spinning head, and because of that the metal box actually heats up and I almost burnt my fingers.

no... Using a glove is very uncomfortable unless I can find a perfect fitted surgical gloves. Right now I am just enduring it and wash my hands every surface is completed

So be sure to stay tuned for more finished products at @craftsofluv account, and some of the completed containers are already in Shopee Malaysia.

If you are interested in owning my Handmade #upcycle container and you live outside Malaysia, a fully decorated container cost about USD9 including registered mail shipping.

If you support my movement please feel free to check out patreon page and look for craftsofluv too. Over there by default you will get one beautifully upcycled container annually, while stock lasts, if you pledge for 12 months. 😁
