How Much Is The Mona Lisa Worth Today?

I want to start today by sharing my daily dose of fun facts for all of you. If you've ever been fortunate enough to visit the Louvre in Paris and seen the Mona Lisa painting among the crowd of people surrounding it, you may be wondering what the fuss is all about? Other than once having been stolen and then recovered, how much is this painting worth?

Well, the Guinness World Records lists the Mona Lisa as having the highest insurance value for a painting ever! On December 14, 1962, the painting was professionally assessed and was found to have a retail value of $100 million. If we take into account inflation, this rate would be roughly $792 million in 2017!

That is a ridiculous amount of money for arguably one of the most, if not the most famous picture in all of history. What do you think? Is the Mona Lisa's price justified or grossly misrepresented? I'd love to know your thoughts in the comments!

I do not understand much after thinking. Why is a photo price so much money?

This is one of my favorite paintings of all times. To me, it's priceless.
