Tretyakov gallery-a storeroom of masterpieces.
In the middle of the 19th century, Russian philanthropist and entrepreneur Pavel Tretyakov became interested in painting and began to collect paintings. A little more than a decade after the acquisition of the first exhibit, the collection has grown to more than one and a half thousand works of art, most of which belonged to the authorship of Russian artists.

The collection of icons in the state Tretyakov gallery is considered to be one of the best collections in the world.

The designer of this exhibition was the famous Russian artist Viktor Mikhailovich Vasnetsov (1848-1926). According to his sketches in the Abramtsevo workshops have produced Windows that mimic the Kyoto – and they were all collected in the Tretyakov icon. Such a display of icons did not exist then in any Russian art Museum.

When you enter the hall of Vrubel in the Tretyakov gallery through the side entrance, the first thing in the eye catches a glittering with all the colors on the background of pearl-blue walls fireplace. The game of light glare is a feature of majolica technique, in which the panel of the fireplace is made. The fireplace appeared in the renovated hall of Vrubel only in 2007, and the story of his very special and amazing way connected with such different personalities as entrepreneur and philanthropist Savva Mamontov, artist Michael Vrubel, American millionaire Armand hammer and Russian singer Olga Vadina.

The name of Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin is familiar to all since childhood: his picture is depicted on the wrapper of the candy "Bears in the forest". In addition to this outstanding work, the painter has dozens of others that hang on the walls of the best museums in the world.
Victor Vasnetsov is one of the most famous Russian artists of the XIX century. He was called " the true hero of Russian painting." He was the first among the painters turned to the epic-fairy-tale subjects. Vasnetsov was one of the first masters of Russian painting, who became close to the frame of easel paintings and who "turned to the decoration of life", took up a variety of areas of art - theater decoration, architecture, applied art and illustration.

"Unequal marriage" - a picture of Russian artist Vasily Pukirev. The work was written in 1862, immediately after graduating from the Moscow school of painting, sculpture and architecture.
