He who stands out of the crowd,
Weird, cunning, handsome or smart
A mother’s son, a woman’s love,
A soldier, a rebel, a simple man
And yet she knows that he’s the one.

He is the one that leads the pack,
Or just the one that’s always last
Sometimes he stumbles
Sometimes he falls
And yet she knows that he’s the one.

She loves to listen to him laugh
Even though inside he cries
A leader caught among his bills
Paying others to live their thrills
And yet she knows that he’s the one.

A boy whose hair is turning grey
Sitting on a chair throughout the day
A man whose mind is getting weak
Stubborn enough to stand on his feet
And yet she knows that he’s the one.

A father’s son hanging on his cross
A ruthless invader without remorse
He used to be the prince of compassion
Fallen to be someone’s companion
And yet she knows that he’s the one.

His wrinkled hand slips into hers
Together they walk their few left steps
Slow, happy and tired
She looks at him now old and retired
And yet she knows that he’s the one.
