Day 4 of the experimental and interactive game, in which I'm trying to compare some of my paintings to cryptocoins, and in which you can manipulate their value, by upvoting or commenting. You can find the introduction here.
After a confusing start, I've simplified the rules a bit. Thanks to everybody who commented and made suggestions, but if it remains too confusing, I'm still holding the option of shelving this experiment. It takes more work than I anticipated and although it's fun, we'll have to see how it turns out in the long run. Let's see what happened on day 4!
Another overall green day on the markets, with Crypto-Painting MARTY-ARTXCHANGE following! All crypto-paintings went down $3.48 because of some forgotten upvotes from day 0! So, good news, everybody!
1. DRP, 40x60cm, yesterday's value: $ 442.25
DRP's linked cryptocoin went up a massive 25.06%, making DRP go all the way up to $548.72! But then, as for all other paintings, Main Stream Media and Rumours got hold of the markets, making all paintings go down 4.44% and then another 8.88%, leaving
2. ILS, 30x40cm, yesterday's value: $ 157.49
ILS switched its linked crypto-coin because of a random triggered event and went straight up in value by 11.35%, but then took the same hits from the MSM and rumour-brigade, dropping it back down to $149.33. Investments were made by @okkiedot, @edward.maesen and @junsusukhairi. In a turn of events, @deemarshall traded all her shares in DRP, NIFLHEIM and AAA for ILS-shares, making it go down even more:
3. NIFLHEIM, 24x30cm, yesterday's value: $ 214.76
NIFLHEIMs linked coin only went up slightly, by 4.27%, so NIFLHEIM followed and climbed to $220.30 before succombing to MSM news and the rumourmongering. @fraenk supported it once again and left
4. AAA, 13x18cm, yesterday's value: $ 91.83
AAA is still going crazy, first on the up, then massively going down, more than any other painting, because as a random event, Argentina now supports AAA, and with @niko3d still investing bigtime,
I'm still thinking about the stakes of the players, as they're accumulating ever so slowly - a couple of cents compared to a couple of hundred dollars of the paintings. So, I'm still not completely content with that - I will keep the tally of the upvotes, but I'm not sure on how to proceed. Let me think it over just a bit more. An upvote on the post gets you a little share in all 4 paintings, however small that share is.
An upvote and a comment on a particular painting brings that painting's price down, and concentrates your shares on that painting, instead of on all 4 paintings.
A random word in a comment can trigger a rise in price or a drop in price for one or all paintings.
I will think further about the rules, and how this game can be kept interactive and fun; I may or may not continue it though, as I have been putting a surprising amount of time in this little post!

I am also glad to see NIFLHEIM slowly showing strong signs of a better buying opportunity, in the meantime I'll keep dumping my excess affiliate fees on MtARX for small buys.

A call to action, indeed! Re-reading it, I'm seeing it's quite a drastic move to make, doubling a painting's value, so let's rephrase it as "You may choose to double one Crypto-painting's value" as well as "you may choose to halve a crypto-paintings value". You may also want to read @okkiedot's comment first ;)

So I've been thinking real hard about this. It's a game, right? Markets aren't fair, right? If I have an opportunity to change things to my own liking... I should take it, right?
But what does that mean for the other cryptopaintings? ILS seems to be a very popular choice and that could cause a short squeeze... it's a game, right? And markets are competitive, right? Yeah, I am really tempted... but instead, nah, there's an option that feels much less hostile...
