Florence in 3D - An Oil Painting in 3D

I have been experimenting with 3 d techniques for years. In this painting I used a 3D anaglyph technique which requires 3d glasses to see the painting in 3d. The end result also looks great without glasses. This was a serious effort on my part, one that tested all of my abilities as an artist. Here are some details of the painting to give you a better idea of just how crazy it was to paint this subject:

This is fantastic! Super clever. The 3D effect is accentuated in the part from half to bottom it seems. I cannot imagine the amount of precision for making this. Wowza.

Oh yea, hand painted in oil paint on stretched canvas in my studio, no digital in the final project 😄
