Today I started a little still life out on the sunny balcony. I had thought about making a still life of my little coffee maker for a while cause I really like the texture of the metal.

One thing I really like to do is mix and match differend kinds of textures, so I put the coffee maker on a wooden table with some porcelain cups.

This painting has a bit of a different perspective than I usually paint my still lifes in. It's a bird perspective which gave me a few challenges along the way. But hey, it's always good to learn something new. :)

This is a work in process. I think the coffee maker is starting to look all right, but tomorrow I want to keep on working on the cups and the perspective of the wood. One of the slightly annoying things about working from life outside is that the light and shadows are constantly changing. Today I had to stop after about three hours cause the shadows had gone from one side to the other.

Fingers crossed tomorrow's gonna be sunny so I can finish this little guy up! ;)
