The Awakening

I painted this piece called "The Awakening" to communicate the connection we feel that stops us from time to time and makes us face our deeper curiosities; that connection spans everything, connecting people to planets and stars within ever expanding systems. We are stardust and are such stuff that dreams are made on, the universe sparkles in our soul. And yet ... (continue reading below image)

... we remain curious of everything we still know nothing about but daily desire to discover, our origins and purpose. The ancients too pondered these questions and developed robust theories and methods to penetrate life’s deeper mysteries, guiding their development of advanced technology to build megalithic structures and other tools for interpreting the universe with extreme accuracy. From the ancient Sumerians to the Olmec and Viracochas, the foot print of a once global culture that shared a proto-language has fallen to time and so we stand here today, disconnected, still asking the same questions. Some say we are currently experiencing Collective Amnesia from the cataclysms of the past and that our current condition is why so many of us seek an awakening to our unconscious and subliminal reality in a form we can relate to, symbols of our consciousness, logos of humanity, arriving at a point of singularity to an infinitely higher dimension and awareness of what is and isn’t our shared, lived experience here on earth.
