Walks around Saint-Petersburg#5.

But we will return a little back to the beginning of Nevsky Prospekt. From the side of the Winter Palace to Vasilevsky Island is thrown by the Palace Bridge, built on the design of engineer Ivan Kondratievich Gerard in 1853. It is this bridge that is the most beautiful and basic in St. Petersburg. Although in the city there are hundreds of bridges that deserve attention. Most of them are opening for navigation on the rivers of the city.

Next, we find ourselves on Vasilievsky Island and our view opens the central structure of the architectural buildings of the arrow of the Vasilievsky Island - the Exchange building. The construction of this building has a long history. The famous architect Giacomo Quarenghi developed a project for the construction of the building and in 1783 construction began. But in 1787 the construction was suspended due to the fact that the building did not correspond to the face of the city. The construction of the Exchange was completed by the architect Tom de Tomon in 1805 - 1810.

For a long time the building was used as a stock exchange, and later the building housed the exposition of the Central Naval Museum. In 2013, the building was transferred to the State Hermitage Museum to create a museum of the Russian Guard and heraldry.

In front of the building, the architect Tom de Tomon installed two rostral columns with sculptures of sea gods.

@megamax Wooow perfect portrait, amazing and interesting, I often follow your posts, it looks like you are a great explorer and photographer.

I would say russian girls are the best thing about russia... but can't deny buildings are beautiful too.

The best thing in Russia is history and people. Girls are everywhere and they grow old ... The history and traditions of Rossi do not age.

Help me by upvoting my post thanks in advance,
