I'm not sure if this was a Japanese garden. I find pics that I like and paint them with my interpretation of what I see. It kind of reminds me of that style though.

I love these paintings...they are elegant and intricate - thoughtful and beautiful... don't take this wrong Michael but the one thing I wish you would do is to make a symbol out of your name so that it would blend in more with the picture... a lot of artists do that - and I would be glad to help you make a cool one if you like...

Thank you @in2itiveart. You are not the first to suggest my signature style needing change. I know it's supposed to blend more with painting, but I either I am trying to be unconventional, or I have an issue with ego? Or both? The really toughest part of making a painting, for me, is the signature!
I would like to see what you have in mind. This old dog is always ready to learn new tricks. ;-)

thanks @michaelstobiersk - I am glad this was not upsetting to you - here is one - it's "MS" sideways and styelized in a box - you could even color in the right 3 triangles like this to make it cooler
when you are done with the painting - just put this symbol in the bottom right - in a color that is IN the painting. Here is mine

Yours is great! What a novel idea! The only problem that I see is that I have about 100 paintings that I have accumulated over the 30 years, and going back and changing them might be a huge task. I wish you I knew you 30 years ago!

Don't go back and change the old ones - just start with the next paintings. If you find yourself inspired to change the old ones - change 1 at a time - you know "one painting at a time" - you could prob get that done in 6 months or so - just one at a time with a few days in between each one.
Many painters do this - google "artist's monograms"
