In and out of the woods

My friend inspired me to do some exploring today, playing trying to find mushrooms after some misfortune with a painting. So i went out took some pictures and did some cooking from what i find.

Before we go further into this post I'd like to say thank you for the 800+ follows guys. I put most of the artworks from the giveaways in the mail yesterday and they should reach you sometime next week. I messed a little bit with numbering from all the copy paste but i hope they all get to the right addresses. If you had some points left from giveaways please mail at [email protected], within let's say a week so i can send you something also.

This morning I was beginning on a painting on the computer but thanks to a crash and forgetting to save all of it was wiped out. I happened to take a picture my phone for someone, so there is that atleast. While at work yesterday my friend told me He had been picking some mushrooms and mentioned some nice areas nearby worth checking out. I was pretty pissed so I thought it might be good thing to go chill in the woods for a while.

Have to say it was quite good as i got there, very calming. So I have not been picking mushrooms since i was a kid, and i can't really recall which ones are edible and which ones will poison you, apart from some basic ones. So i mostly stick to taking pictures. Like this funky looking guy i'm not sure about so i leave it behind. Though it may be just one of those you parboil before cooking. Don't take advice from me...

I spent quite a while there just looking at stuff. There is so much to wonder at.

I think this one escaped from a Lovecraft story.

The webs were quite beautiful with the raindrops.

So with my limited knowledge i was hoping to find some chantarels, though it might be a little bit late this time. But under a blueberry bush(i wish i had a picker with me too) i spotted something familiar

pennybun.jpg.

A good size penny bun mushroom or porcini! Atleast I hope so because i ate it already..

I wandered a little bit more and saw some interesting mushrooms but i didn't end up picking anything else.

So i return home via shop with some essentials..butter, cream. There was one little maggot inside but mostly the shroom was in good shape.
I chopped it up and fried it without fat first to take some moisture out.

then i fried some onions and little bir of garlic with modest amount of butter and some cream to make a sauce.

And served with some pretty colored pasta. I mixed it more but the colors looked nice like this.

Tasted pretty good too. Hope you enjoyed this post.

at last ,,, you found a mushroom
nice article

Thank you. Yeah, i there were lots that probably were good but i need to refresh my memory on them.

It's amazing what you can see if you look closely at things. I never looked close up at a mushroom, but seeing that one in your photos was amazing.

When Denmark gets too hot due to global warming I wil move to Finland. Beautiful Carl Johan mushroom!

Plenty of this stuff here to roam about. Thanks i thought it was nice find, have to go more prepared next time.

well done! there is nothing more rewarding than finding your own food after a long day of computers trying to muck up your work!

True that. I have to do this more often.

Wonderful shots @mikkolyytinen ...upvoted blessings

Thank you, next week you will have some :D

wow, so beautiful porcino (boletus)!!! Really good! I'm a mushrooms seeker from when I was a child and every time I find a porcino like this I'm so happy!!! I have to wait some days to search them, because now the forest is too dry here ^_^

Thank you, hope it will rain soon on the select spots and you find many :D

I hope the same ;)

Great post.

Thanks
