2nd Watercolor Painting: A Progress (Trying New Perspective)

in art •  7 years ago

It is such a good day! So I thought this is a perfect moment to start with my second watercolor painting. But now of a new perspective. I really searched for sample paintings on instagram and all over the net and found something I can manage for this time. Compared to my last post, this one is a bit of a splashing of colors while the previous one focuses on one color at a body part.

Why I Changed Style

I realized the previous painting requires skills that should have honed over the years that is why I cannot perfect it. Not YET (hehehe) It requires a lot of detailing which I cannot do just yet for I have not found in myself the correct outlines and shadows and even where to put the correct strokes to really make it realistic. Plus! The materials. But still I am more than happy to have just a water color and a pen! So better make the best out of it. So here goes...

This is the final product of my second practice.

The Making

Now for the process, I firstly sketched a portrait of a woman which I always prefer. I do not know why, there is just something about a portrait of a woman that can make the vibe so good.

Next, I started to splash and combine colors everywhere her hair and body. I chose purple, blue, and pink so as to make a galaxy effect but really did not make it a galaxy effect though hehehe but I still like it so I pushed it through with this combination.

Then I started to color her face with the same colors to corporate her overall body effect. This looked like a beautiful mess for me because of the overwatered paper.

Lastly, I finished it off with a detail using the Pilot G-Tech Pen 0.4.

After the final touches, this is what it would look like.

Overall, I felt happy after painting this one! There are still rooms for improvement so I am planning to paint more for the next days hopefully with another style so I can learn a lot.

Should you want to follow my progress, check out my 1st watercolor paint, and stay tuned for more! BTW, thank you for being with me on this journey! And I would always appreciate comments or tips in watercolor painting!

That would be it for now, everyone! Thank you again and hope you like it!
