Hello Friends
Amazing, isn't it!!
Today's article is a very useful one. It's on monetizing your social media accounts for Bitcoins, alt coins or coming up ICOs. It's quite possible that many Steemians already know about it, but still there are many who are not aware of this method. Especially the minnows. So if you are a minnow, you'll probably find reading this article worth your time.
The site I am mentioning here is Bitcointalk.org. What is it?
It's the official Bitcoin forums, created by none other than the legendary Satoshi Nakamoto!! Yes the guy who created the first Bitcoins, and is now anonymous for security reasons. But there was a time when people could communicate with him on this Bitcointalk forum. They were mainly the developers and people with the vision of what Bitcoin would become in future.
This is the forum where the crypto crowd gathers; including investors, altcoin launchers, traders, crypto related website owners, developers, hackers, common people like you and me and maybe even Government officials!!! If you are in crypto world and not on Bitcointalk, then that's kinda wrong. If you are launching a new coin or a service related to cryptos and not mentioning it on this forum, then you are losing that invaluable exposure to highly targeted crowd. Even steemit is on Bitcointalk.
Just a random crypto enthusiast!!!
Anyways, let's come to the point. How to monetize your social media accounts + bitcointalk profile on bitcointalk.org.
Firstly create an account on bitcointalk.org.
Then take some time to update the details on your profile, like adding your site link, settings, layout etc. Not necessary, but keeps things organized.
After that understand the structure of the forum, visit it's sub forums, topics in it etc. You should read the rules also, so that you don't get your valuable account blocked. They certainly don't enjoy spam there!!! ;) Also read this post to know a bit about the hierarchy structure on bitcointalk. Basically the higher rank you have, the more trusted and respected you are + you can monetize your profile with higher profits.
After all this is done, you are good to monetize your social media accounts. To do so you will have to join a bounty campaign on Bitcointalk. These bounty campaigns provide you with Bitcoins, altcoins like Ether or ICOs which are launching. Most campaigns will offer you their own native coins, but some offer Bitcoins also. Now there is a trade-off here. Either you can simply join the Bitcoins ones to get a guaranteed profit, or you can take some risk and get paid in bounty specific token. If the token succeeds then you can sell them at higher prices later and conversely if the tokens is a scam, then you lose your hardwork and time invested. In any case, it's free, so at least you don't lose your money. So, you will have to make a decision there. Good old Bitcoin or High risk-High reward new tokens.
Between, how many of you thought about this kind of bounty!!!😁
Before choosing an appropriate bounty I will suggest that you raise your rank to at least jr. member. That way you have much highers chances of being accepted in a bounty campaign. But of course the read deal breaker bounties only allow the Full members or above ranks.
Now choose a bounty from this board. These offer mostly their own tokens only. Now which bounty to choose or which not, is surely a difficult thing. You will have to spend time reading the features of these coins, analyze their potential etc. and then choose one and join it's bounty campaign. You can also search and choose a bounty from this board, which usually pays in Bitcoins. Most bounties will have the topic name starting with [Bounty]. Here you can also list your services for sale, like translation, graphic designing etc. You see, Bitcointalk is a fully fledged marketplace. You don't need to go anywhere else!
After choosing a bounty campaign, just follow their instructions as stated in their thread. Most require you to carry their signatures and make posts on various other topics on Bitcointalk. This is basically a form of advertisement on Bitcointalk. The sponsors will pay you weekly, monthly or at the end of the bounty campaign. Some bounties ask you to share their posts on Facebook, twitter etc. Some pay you to blog on platforms like Steemit. And some also give you tokens or Bitcoins for translating their threads and whitepaper, which is generally difficult, very competitive; but also highly rewarding.
Always remember that you can only join bounties of 1 sponsor at a time. This is obviously to avoid conflict of interests. Some sponsors allow you to have bounties of another sponsor, but that's surely not a professional thing to do! ;)
In case you are a white hacker, developer or a related nerd, then do check out the official bounty of the Bitcointalk, related to the security of the forums. Obviously such a forum is always a high target for the hackers or even Govt. They pay a good amount for these bounties, only a bit less than the Google security bounties (as per the bitcointalk guys).
Which bounty have I joined?
One of the 3 faction in the game.
Well, I am currently doing this Hashrush bounty. It offers bounties for Twitter, Facebook, blogging, signatures and translations. The project is basically about an online game, which is like clash of clans but without the 'attack other players' feature. Here you can build and upgrade various buildings and in return get altcoins, which you can withdraw. They haven't publically launched the game yet, but I chose to participate in this project because of the potential. They are on steemit also. I have to admit, I don't have the required skills to predict if a coin will be a scam or hit. But, if nothing I will get some experience!!
So this is how you can monetize your social media accounts for cryptos. Hopefully you all will find this article useful. Do mention you thoughts about it in the comments section.
Thanking You
