Below is my entry for @everlove's collaborative art journey. Inspired by the image she presented for use, which is the piece I have incuded here, altered in a few ways, with my original poetry added to it.

I See You

enter image description here

Echoes of silence
Through windows perceived
The call of Orion
A voice calls to me
A voice that speaks softly
"It's time to be free"
"Now I see you"
"Just as you have seen me"

Inspired by the movie Avatar, and also by the following quote:

Among the tribes in Northern Natal in South Africa, the tribes greet each other with “Sawu bona” which in the English language is equivalent to saying “hello”

The phrase “Sawu bona” literally is defined as “I see you.

If you are a member of the tribe you would reply, “Sikhona” Which in English language is equivalent to saying “I am here.

The order of the greeting of this exchange is important. And what it is saying…in literal translation.

UNTIL YOU SEE ME~ I do not exist.

Which means: when you see me you bring me into existence.

In the blockbuster movie Avatar when they say “I see you” it means I see the love and your feelings and your soul and you mean everything to me. http://www.lollydaskal.com/leadership/i-see-you/

When I first saw the image I got a sense of vision, of sight, and emergence or awakening. Though I haven't done a lot to the image - 180 degree flip, and some filter manipulations - I felt inspired to contribute. These were the words that presented themselves. Enjoy.

Thank you for taking a look and letting me know your thoughts. Always appreciated. I have noticed your collaborations in the past, but only noticed this week the invite to poets also (perhaps I never noticed it earlier, perhaps i wasn't meant to :) ). Some images speak to me more than others - this was one of those.
The collaborations are a great thing for this community, very happy to be a part of that.

The most rewarding collaborations are those we are inspired by. So glad you took this under your wing and gave us a taste of your world. It's truly beautiful the support and growing connection we are experiencing. I'm grateful you are part of this community @naquoya.

This is a beautiful expression of gratitude and appreciation. Thank you for being you.

And you as well @thesixworldorder!

You did a great job of taking a collective source of things that inspired you and created something that completely inspired me. Thank you.

I really appreciate you saying that. I had just watched the movie Avatar again when I saw the collaboration, so the concept that the movie portrays was fresh in my mind. The connectedness of all things, and the way in which our interactions affect others was a central theme of consideration.

Cool collaboration with @everlove!

So glad you think so - although it helps to have a great foundation, and this image was that for me. Thanks for your comment.

This was nice short piece that perfectly captured the image. Way to bridge the gap between the fiction/poetry and art communities! There should really be more collaborative efforts to solidify the foundations of this platform.

Thanks, glad you could appreciate it. I don't like to put too wordy a poem on an image. It's hard to read, but also, to me, the image is part of the poetry. Art is a kind of visual poetry, or perhaps poetry is wordy art! Time for the mishmash-trail, lol.

mishmash-trail! haha I like that. Yeah, it's great that lines are blurred regarding the different forms of art. When it all comes together well, it's just pure magic :)
