Creative Works of Art for World Change

It goes out like a fussed around my class! When I told my class that for their final output in my subject has to be something of real essence and substance.
For the past months we were dealing, discussing, interacting and commenting
on various contemporary issues that was simply of big significance for humankind.
To name a few this contemporary issues center on environmental problems like pollution, climate change, disaster preparedness, mitigation and reduction, on both societal and governmental issues we deal with human rights, good governance, and participatory citizenship. This were only some of the hot issues that we had tackled. Now, to create something out of theory and facts was the new challenge. I had divided the class into two groups and allowed them to decide what particular issues they will focus, create an output and present it to the class. The rubrik should be followed:
Significance and Value: 40 points
Explanation: 30 points
Artistic Creativity: 30 points
Right away my students plan and brain storm their ideas to come up with something big. They had sketched the details, plan what materials to used. The groups were given 5 days to worked on their final output, and yesterday was the day of verdict. I told them to present their output with their logical explanation.
Group 1: with their plant antena entry

Sir, we present to you our plant antena, (first photo) this is mainly made up of used wires, and plastics. The concept of this plant antena powered by a strong wifi would be to detect any harmful actions that would destroy our environment. It is of prime importance sir, because prevention is key in protecting our environment. We need to do instant, responsive action for environment before its too late!

Group 2: Sir, this is not just an ordinary robot, his name is MBB robot that stands for MY BEST BUDDY ...This robot sir will be a robot companion for all household, families, relatives, friends, the public, the nation, the world. Everyone will have their best buddy that will always remind people to do good and protect the very nature of human and society-being good!

Reaction:
I was really impressed and totally amazed by my students whom presented the value of art, creative works and logical reasoning in helping and creating a change of our society. Indeed, it is in the mind of the students that we find the answer!
