According to HB graphite scale, the pencil of B quality like 2B, 4B, 6B & so on means blackness of pencil. The number before B indicates the scale of blackness. The more value of the number, the more darkness of pencil's sketch. For example, 4B pencil's drawing is darker than 2B.

According to HB graphite scale, the pencil of H quality like 2H, 4H, 6H & so on means hardness of pencil. The number before H indicates the scale of hardness. The more value of the number, the more hardness of pencil. For example, 4H pencil is harder than 2H.

And the HB pencil means it's both hard & sketch of this pencil is also dark.
