Art To Stop Monsanto... (Collages by CMOR)

Keep Calm And DIE...jpg

The march against Monsanto is coming up in just over a month... Since 2013 the march has been an annual event... I wish it were once a month, but I get it... People have lives, need to survive, all of that... It does continue to surprise me, however, when I meet folks who still have no idea what genetically modified foods are, and why they are the worst thing you could eat, in every case...

Those who rely on the USA media will not have a clear idea of how other countries have dealt with GMO food... Europe has banned many GMOs, as well as limiting the use of Round-Up... Japan and Russia have refused to allow entire shiploads of GMO corn... China probably copies the IP of the big biotech firms, but officially they don't import GMO seeds...

I like to make signs and art banners for events like this march... Especially when you see stuff on clearance at Michael's, big letters that spell NO GMO for ten cents each... Score!

This next photo is a stamp I hacked... Another clearance rack item, I think it was 50 cents... I used an exacto knife to cut away the cherry and leaves on the stem, and suddenly you have a nice cupcake bomb! BAM!!

Another thing you could do is protest Whole Foods Market... In 2013 they promised publicly to label all the GMO shit in their stores by 2018... Guess what? Nothing! I feel like shopping there in my hazmat suit, to let them know I do not accept their fail... But if you don't have a hazmat suit, you can decorate a shopping bag from there and then return it to the store... Buy something and say, "Oh I brought my OWN bag!" Get it on video and upload it to youturd!

I have also done lots of postal art... Decorate the outside of the package or letter you are sending, and teach the postal system not to eat poisoned food! I think it is illegal to actually alter a postage stamp, but here is an example of expanding on a stamp without defacing it...

Food Emancipation.jpg

I have so many rough postal collages that I should do a series about that, separately... Here's a random fun one, using a 1950's football card from my bio-dad's pasted album... Soylent Greenbay!

Wow, these are too hilarious! I definitely will do an exclusive post in the future about GOING POSTAL!! In a way, that evolved into the Occupy Wallets project, the act of putting your voice on something that will go out into the public... It is much like planting a seed that could sprout literally anywhere! Make it organic...

Miser Guillotine....jpg

That was not made by me, but appeared at a march against Monsanto, in a different city... I offer it as an example of taking it to new levels... The Monopoly miser with a Monsanto guillotine is about as poignant a message as it could get...

And then there is my buddy CAPES1, who does murals whenever someone donates a wall to him, and even some paint... If you are in the New England area (I am not) then he can come to you... He is amazingly talented... Here is his Lucky Harms mural, which made the local newspaper's front page!

The takeaway from this post is Monsanto is bad... Don't eat GMO shit... Do more to stop biotech from killing us...

Decorate your mail... Deface your money... Demonstrate your opinions with a sharpie at a bus stop! Anything to help one less tumor come into the world... And call your mom before mother's day, if you are lucky enough to still have such...
And smile, for gawd's sake...

I first heard about GMO when I was about 18 years old. At first I actually could not believe it was real, I thought it was crazy conspiracy theories, I do remember being overly idealistic and writing letters to government thinking that it would change and stop within a year. Oh to be young and naive again! That was 15 years ago.

I haven't gone to a regular Mexican restaurant in 10 years! So tragic...

That is tragic I ate at some random Mexican restaurant last week. They made us all wear sombreros while we ate48B7AC6B-F696-401F-A053-5E63732CEA38.jpeg

Nice. I think your bomb had an influence on the title to this one: "Glitter Bomb"

Oh my god so sexy
