From little acorns grow...

A couple of days ago I shared with you my post Oak Leaves in which I showed the development of my ideas for a project based on oak leaves. After a bit more work I created a fourth design and I have finally finished it!

The first three designs in my post Oak Leaves

The process

For this piece I drew out my design in yellow watercolour pencil before applying a light border of colour around the edges using watercolours. I then used masking fluid to mask off the veins of the oak leaves before applying more layers of watercolour.

The final stage was to add black lettering saying 'Mighty oaks from little acorns grow'.

All framed up and ready to go to its new home!

@charles1 , i am agree with you

welcome

Thank you @charles1

you are welcome, always.

awesome

Hehe, you answered in another post that you are still posting and here i am :-)

Nice things you do.

When i was scrolling, i was thinking to tell you to print some of them and frame them... but i reached the end and saw it.
Good.

I do print some of photographs that i took and gave them to the people who asked. They could be a nice memory at some point and remembering you the moments you've been through.

Even 1 photo per year and it is something to keep our work or life alive.

Cheers again :-)

Ah good- you found me lol!

I admire oak trees! Beautiful work dear @opheliafu! Very pleasant and with a deep meaning! Best wishes to you!

Kind words, thank you @evgsk

Awesome drawing!! Great work @opheli

Thank you @qye!

Nice vibrant colors!

Thank you @jnart glad you like them :D

Ah that's lovely although it makes my heart heavy with the whole autumnal look. Summer is ebbing away!

Don't be sad Autumn is a beautiful season to look forward too!

It is, but I love summer so much!!

@opheliafu - Lovely shades of the oak leaves. The subtle variation of shades reflects real leaves and almost makes me reach out and try to pick up a leaf. I like the caption as well. After framing, the whole effect looks so clean and striking. Well done! Cheers . Upvoted.

I'm glad you liked the effect @vm2904

gorgeous work

Thanks @suzanrs

The body of work is looking great, @opheliafu
Keep it up.

very nice! it is so simple, shiny and cute... it looks great in that white frame... love it!

It seems autumn is on everyone's mind ... we've had a change of weather here and I can sense that crispness in the air. The clouds are somber and have purple bottoms - a sure sign of fall.

Love the colour palette, especially the green hues in some leaves, the shading and the composition. I was impressed with lettering. Your own style of calligraphy?

Calligraphy - I drew it freehand using frenchscript as inspiration.

very beautiful

Good job, I appreciate your work, I hope to have your help on this and I follow you.

Thank you @carlos-vnzla15

Very creative artwork! Upvoted.

Thank you very much @mpr

You've got serious skills.

Yet no caterpillar in this one:) Waiting;)
It's so awesome how you see beauty in everything around you!

I am a little stuck with the caterpillar, i don't think it will make a good picture as a realistic drawing- i may need to go a bit abstract.

I will wait impatiently:) It will look really great through prism of your art, I'm sure!:)

Its wonderful, how you capture the essence of things with a keen eye and a sure hand. Love to see how you got here from the first steps the other day!

I started the process of drawing it at night, so the photographs were a bit rubbish! I kept the colours natural but simplified the inner lines, instead of drawing with ink this time i put those lines down with masking fluid, drawing them in with a stick rather than a brush.

The results are very convincing. I can see, that you are very skilled and have great control over whatever tool you are using and yet everything is light and "alive"

That means a lot coming from someone as skilled as yourself, thank you.

Very nice! Congrats!

This oak leaves give me an idea of another leave that i can explore its scientific and nanomaterials capabilities. Great drawing @opheliafu

@opheliafu , have you done
very useful for us

Another lovely piece @opheliafu... and it lends itself really well to the calligraphy.

Thank you very much @reddragonfly

Like you're colors

Nicely done, fall is in the air.

It definitely feels that way

I really love the selection of colours in the leaves, i feel the autumn mood coming with an inspiring haiku:) You also have a very steady hand, i envy you:)

I'm in the process of completing a piece inspired by Autumn, along with a short poem- hope to share tomorrow!

Loving your nature inspired art. Looking forward to seeing more of your work now that I've found and followed you.

Thank you, i hope you like the rest of my work.

I admire your power of creation and the source of inspiration dear friend @opheliafu, only a visit to nature gave rise to this beautiful work, congratulations for the talent you have

Nature is so inspiring! A constant source :D

Autumn is here, second of my favorite season

Oh i think it may be my favourite one!

I stick to winter

You've nicely incorporated that saying into a lovely drawing :) Are you selling your art or just doing for pleasure?

Both- lol. I'm lucky to like what I do!

That is the best combination :)
