Out of the blue!

in art •  8 years ago

I enjoy mixing media and experimenting with techniques, it creates new opportunities in which to develop my work. In this piece of art I combine cyanotype printing with drawing.

In my previous post Catching the sun- creating my cyanotype prints I explained the process I use to make cyanotype print pictures.

For this cyanotype print I used a small wooden bird blank, a paper doily, dried lavender and gypsophila flowers.

I exposed the paper to sunlight. You can see where the shapes have been.

I then stopped the paper's exposure by washing it in a water bath.

The resulting cyanotype print.

I then completed my picture by using a paint pen to add details.

This piece of work will be up for grabs in my SteemFest Art Giveaway tonight! See my previous SteemFest Art Giveaway here.

Little birdie :) I'm still amazed by this process!

It's magic. The magic of chemistry!

creativity is good. Upvoted and following. Look at my post on my experience as an art consultant.

Oooh that sounds interesting. Will do. Though, I'm following you- so it should pop up in my feed if it's a new one!

Not a new post...a several days old post. Thanks for following.

this is so pretty.I love it

It's fainter than my usual cyanotypes because I tried out Fabriano paper for this one. I like the ghostly silhouette, I made it in the morning when the shadows are cast longer, for a sharper image I need to do it at noon, but I like the way this has turned out. It works well when combined with brighter colours.

Very very lovely :-)

Glad you like it!

Very Pretty!!! Good job:)

Thank you !

I like this one @opheliafu. It almost has a Christmas feel to it :)

Doily snowflakes? I'm starting to get my Christmas pictures ready next week, maybe I'll do a few more of these.
