Pebbles on the beach

I spent a few days this week by the coast in Somerset, a county in South West England. A walk on beach pebbles inspired this latest doodle 'Pebble Heads', I wonder where all those washed up pebbles have travelled from.

A quick drawing of stones on a small knoll, made in my sketchbook using black fineliner.

I then bled the fineliner pen with water, I also added hints of colour to the drawing using watercolours.

Very nice work! Your post reminded me of a video created by Seth Boyden, called 'An Object at Rest', when you posed the question of where the pebbles might have come from. Thanks for sharing your beautiful art!

Here's a link to the video I mentioned if someone is interested in seeing it:

Fantastic video to share - thank you very much. I really enjoyed watching this :D

I'm glad I could help a little. Keep up your great work. 😊

There is nothing better than the beach to visit, also renew our positive energy by absorbing the negative
What beautiful scribbles dear friend @opheliafu, congratulations
Many thanks for giving us this beautiful work
I wish you a happy evening

I love being by the sea - maybe one day I will get to live by the coast.

That would be extraordinary, I also dream of living on the coast, here we have a huge river (Parana) and it is beautiful.
I wish you a beautiful Sunday

I love it! You are definitely thinking outside the sandy shore line to pebbles. Nicely done and thanks for describing the process.

Thank you, I like to share a little of the inspiration behind my doodles.

Hi my friend!! y waching again your work and i can see you are a new stile of tons! i like it!! nice work i love it

Thank you - I've been away from my drawing desk on and off this past month - so i've swapped to more travel friendly medium of sketchbook, pen and travel watercolours.

WAO how exciting! I hope that in this trip you are living experiences that awaken the muses, we are talking, someday we find ourselves in the discord. Kisses

It is great. A work of art

Hy @technicalasia just upvoted you ,,,,,,,,,nice post

I was going to say how cool these would be animated and then I see someone else linked a video thinking the same thing :) They just have a look that you want to see 'what they are up to'

I would love to get back into animation - i made a few stop motion animations in my uni days, but i think i could created some more with my digital drawings . A future project maybe.

I live near Lake Superior in North Ameriva and I often think about how the tiny pebbles I see may have been part of a mountain, worn down by glaciers and liquid water over thousands of years.

River (and inland lake ) pebbles have such beautiful qualities to them too. I often find pebbles in my pockets when I return from places- so i have quite the collection on my mantelpiece at home.
