Environmental Art in Val di Sella [55 photos]

in art •  7 years ago

I visited the amazing environmental Art park in Val di Sella (Italy) some years ago. The ArteSella association manages since 1986 a large open space in the woods inviting artists to create artworks there, using the natural materials of the place. My uncle visited the park  last year and took many photographs for me.

There are really awesome artworks in that place. You can see some of them below.

This kind of art - Environmental Art - is really important, in my opinion. Watching those shapes changes watcher's mind, expecially for the contrast with the used and familiar image of the woods. It is somehow a cultural shock.

Art always works that way, of course, and its role in the development of each individual happens that way.

But I think that watching those artworks in a wood has a bigger impact than seeing them in a museum.

What do you think?

They made a documentary on Swiss national TV about it, and it's really great, I wanna see it once! It's a good way to make nature and art encountering!

I am impressed with the classical elements of the park, although the environment is a lot of plants but the cleanliness is very awake. anyone who goes there, would be impressed..
