Dale Lewis - Mayonnaise

I wanted to post the painting that my profile icon is taken from, as it is one of my favourite paintings of all time and feel it needs more recognition: Mayonnaise by Dale Lewis (website here: https://www.dalelewis.co.uk/)

I saw the piece in all it's magnificence at the Saatchi Gallery back in summer 2018, and fell in love with it.
Not only did it depict a Matador finally getting his just deserts (I'm completely against bull fighting), but I feel like bull's are rarely featured in art, and as a Taurus, it always makes me happy to see them!
I'm also a major fan of the colours red and pink in paintings, which Dale has used heavily in this piece. (If you really enjoy red & pink toned artwork as much as I do, I seriously recommend checking out Oh De Laval, her work is to die for!)

I wish my photo's did this piece justice. It really was massive in size, I had to take this picture from half away across the room to get it all in! And the effortless little details and textures Dale uses in his paintings, really are something to behold in person. The dude really can paint!
