Serperior is the final evolution of my all time favorite pokémon starter, but this was my first time drawing him.

Serperior was easy to sketch. It's a snake like lizard thing with ears, or something like that... I forgot to draw it's teeth though, but oh well.. 

I used a warm gray mulitliner, but I think it would have looked better in the end if I had used a green or sepia multiliner.

Trading cards are small, people always seem to believe they are bigger.. But no, they are tiny.

The coloring process

Serperior is various shades of green and yellow, so I chose a background that went from darkish red to orange.

I started coloring the lightest parts to avoid the darker colors bleeding into where the lighter colors should be.

This is what it looked like before I added details:

White gel pen really makes the illustration pop. I also darkened the eye a bit, using a regular mechanical pencil.
