Entering an art show is tough. Entering an art show when you taught yourself to paint by watching old Bob Ross videos and YouTube tutorials on watercolor is ridiculous. I wanted to challenge myself, so I tried new techniques I've never tried. I learned to stitch so I could add texture to my canvas. I learned to make acrylic glazes. I put watercolor paper on canvas to create dimensionality and mix media.
I've been working on this piece for a month, and I'm finally excited to reveal Reflections Too Late to the public. I created this piece in part of a celebration our local art gallery is holding for the 100th anniversary of our historic cemetery. Local artists went to the graveyard to draw inspiration and create pieces of art. I'm very proud of the pieces I created, even if they're not technically the best or most impressive pieces. I can't wait to see where I'll be in another year.
