Art #1 - 3D Snow Landscape

in art •  8 years ago  (edited)

Hallo fellow Steemers, Today I will share some 3D work that I have created.

The project created here was for my application on a Game Artist education in Rotterdam. When I created this I was very new to Game Engines and 3D modelling. I didn't had much knowledge or skills. The Snowy Landscape is created in the game engine Unity.

Unity is one of the most used Game Engine in the world, More games are made with Unity than with any other game technology. I also created some assets using the 3D modelling software Cinema 4D. I created a wooden cabin that fit's in the environment.

After doing some research and reading a lot on the internet about Unity Engine, I started my project with sculpting out the landscape. When I had the rough Terrain down I started to paint in some snow and rock textures on the terrain.

When the base was done I started to put down a lot of trees, bushes and rocks in the environment. The terrain started to look alive but was missing some things I started implementing some effects like snow and a waterfall.

Great work! love to see more . And are you into scripting also?

Thanks man, Well im not really into scripting yet but I do want to get in on it and learn how to code.

I'm also unity users. I mostly do programming in c# and if you need any help we can collaborate in future :)

Oke nice man :D, Is it hard to learn C script if you dont know any coding ?

It won't be hard. When i started programming i didn't feel hard instead it was more of fun. But it's my personal opinion you never know if it's hard or more of fun without getting started to programming. If you want to learn programming for making games then I recommend you to watch "Brackeys" videos on youtube for learning unity c# . It will help you a lot. Best wishes for your journey in programming :)

oke thanks for the tip, I have seen some videos of brackeys before I will check im out.

I really just have to bite the bullet and get into some real 3D work. Any good tutorials you can recommend for Unity?

Hey man, Yes I would say Unity it self has some great toturial courses to get into the basics of unity.
