Work in Progress - Really Taking Shape Now - Marilyn Mycelium

Mycelium Monroe 1.3.jpg

Yesterday was a really good work day. I got to work on a few of my in-process pieces. I even sort of started a new one, but that's for you to see in time. Today, I'm sharing this one.

I've decided to fit the background with a rotting log instead of just having her and her fungal entourage appearing in front of a tree. It's just the first layer, so it's pretty rough right now, but I think I'll have a few more kinds of fungi peeking our here and there, and the cracks will be much more prominent.

I've also dulled out some more of the colours in the shrooms behind her, so that she'd pop more.

And of course, the work that's gone into her skirt. I've been working on the gills quite a bit. I got about halfway around. They need to be a little lighter too, I think.

Looks good, though!

Excellent work! Very creative.

How about her hands/shoulders visavis her legs? the color contrast between the two seems to contradict. or am i not seeing well.?

Oh! I think i get it now. The skirt attire includes leggings, same color as the skirt!
