Work Still in Progress - Mycelium Monroe

Mycelium Monroe 1.1.jpg

I'm not completely satisfied with how the background is going yet, but there's still development to do. I'm going to darken it a bit when I get to the oils, but I haven't figured out what to do with the feet at all yet.

I want the background to be sort of soft and a bit more distant, so I'm confident that shading it will add that distance, but we'll see. A painting ain't finished until it decides to be. Maybe I'll add some bark as substrate. Maybe that will be the ground.

I haven't done my research yet on these fungi. I've decided to wait until I have all the base coats down to be sure which fungi I'll be researching. I'm really looking forward to it. I seldom think to use the scholarly articles function on google, but that and youtube together will eventually bring you a pretty in depth bog post from me about all this. I can guarantee you that I will be interested, and hopefully that will translate to being interesting.
