"Wrong Turn" 16x20" Acrylic on canvas. For 'Extraterrestrial Culture Day'

It's important to celebrate culture, is it not? Of course it is. I have no idea what's behind this silly holiday. Conspiracy theories aside, it would make more sense to celebrate this sort of thing AFTER we make contact with an extraterrestrial species.

For my part in the conspiracy chain, I think if the little green men rumours are true, they're still not 'extraterrestrial' in nature. I think, given how far SETI has reached, how distantly far the next inhabitable (by carbon and water-based life forms) planets are, that any "Little Green Men" seen have been from here. From the future. I think if they're real, they're us from the future.

But who knows. Not me. I'm not paid enough to know anything. And I'm not paid enough to keep secrets, so I'll probably never know anything. Anyway, this holiday amuses me. I'm currently rekindling a love for the X-files. We just finished watching season two of the original series the other day. Some things hold up, some are purely ridiculous.

This painting, as you may have seen before, if you've been following me, is of Christopher Walken. Inspired by one year ago, when during this month, all of February, I was trapped in an office working a temp job so that we could make rent for March. I felt like an alien among those people. I felt like everyone else working there had, by necessity, spent so long guarding their personalities, that they all camouflaged into the cubicles. I guess it's hard to make friends within a close-knit office situation, because if you find out you don't like each other, you have to live with that for the entire duration of your employment.

This is Christopher Walken. I was Christopher Walken. We are all Christopher Walken sometimes.
